Tom Ingram grew up around farming, which only means it runs in his blood. Tom is a farmer in Dawson, Georgia, which is located just north of Albany. There he farms peanuts and cotton on his farm he calls Motnella farms. Tom has fond memories as a child of his uncles, who all farmed in Sumter County, Georgia just right up the road. He also stated another fond memory he had as a child was when the peanut plant had the whole town smelling like freshly dug peanuts. Tom feels that even though the work is challenging, the crop is like a child, and you must care for it year to year.
